Vitamins are important for our growth, recovery, and, therefore, health. Vitamins are not only found in foods but are also incorporated into various skin care products.
There are a total of 13 vitamins that can be divided into two groups:
- Fat-soluble vitamins: A, D, E and K.
Fat-soluble vitamins are usually found in fatty foods such as fish, meat, eggs, nuts, and avocados. The body can store fat-soluble vitamins in adipose tissue and the liver.
- Water-soluble vitamins: C and the B variants (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B11 and B12).
Water-soluble vitamins are found in the moisture of foods, such as fruit and vegetable juices. They can also move freely in the body's tissue fluids. These vitamins (with the exception of vitamin B12) are not stored in the body, but are eliminated through urine.
Here we would like to highlight vitamin E for you.
Vitamin E and nutrition
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and is the collective name for eight similar substances found naturally in our diet, including four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. Our bodies do not produce vitamin E on their own, so we must obtain it primarily through our diet. It is found, for example, in nuts, wheat germ, egg yolks, seeds, oily fish, green leafy vegetables, avocados, and vegetable oils.
Vitamin E and the skin
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that plays a key role in protecting the skin from environmental damage. It makes the skin less prone to sunburn, limits cellular damage caused by the sun, and, in combination with vitamin C, lightens pigmentation spots. Vitamin E also helps protect the skin from air pollution and other external factors that can produce free radicals. These free radicals can damage the structure of skin cells and lead to premature skin aging.
In addition, vitamin E contributes to skin repair, helping to heal and reduce scarring. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can reduce redness and swelling.
What are the benefits of vitamin E?
- Hydration : helps strengthen the skin barrier and retain moisture, resulting in healthy, hydrated skin.
- Antioxidant protection : Provides protection against damage caused by free radicals.
- Skin softener : Relieves dry and rough skin.
Skin care with vitamin E
Regular use of products containing vitamin E can produce noticeable results:
- Skin texture improvement : Helps improve skin texture, making it softer and smoother.
- Anti-aging : reduces wrinkles and expression lines.
- Healthy radiance : Protects against free radical damage and provides a radiant complexion.
