Foot care

The feet are the "third kidney." However, many toxins that the kidneys cannot excrete can "leak" through the feet. This is due to the difference in pH levels. Many toxins are also excreted through the skin in the form of rashes, red spots, or acne.

Foot bath with Dead Sea salt

To soothe your skin and help your body excrete toxins through your feet, you can regularly soak your feet in Dead Sea salt . This also helps with foot fungus, sweaty feet, swollen feet, and cold feet. It also treats many types of skin rashes and bladder and kidney conditions. It can also aid in detoxification and weight loss treatments.

For a foot bath, use half a cup of Dead Sea salt and pour water up to the instep. Then, dissolve it in warm water. Soak your feet for half an hour and then let them air dry.

Tip: Drink a glass of water during and after the foot bath.

Prevents calluses, foot fungus and cracks

  • Wash your feet : It seems obvious, but it's important to wash your feet every day with warm water and mild soap . Be sure to also wash between your toes, where bacteria can easily accumulate.
  • Dry your feet : Again, dry them especially well between your toes to minimize the risk of foot fungus or other infections.
  • Fit your shoes : Shoes that are too small can cause blisters and calluses, while those that are too large can cause your feet to slip and rub. Therefore, wear shoes that fit properly and provide adequate support.
  • Change your shoes regularly : This gives your shoes a chance to air out and helps prevent foot fungus.
  • Remove excess calluses : Exfoliate your heels 1-2 times a week to remove excess skin cells. Remove excess calluses after each shower (when your skin is soft) with a lava stone .
  • Moisturize : Massage your feet daily with a moisturizing foot cream . Don't forget your cuticles and the spaces between your toes, but make sure the cream is well absorbed before putting on your socks.

Chalky nails

Do you suffer from chalky nails? There are several products on the market that promise to help you get rid of them. However, they often have unpleasant side effects. Only try them if nothing else helps.

  • Take a foot bath with Dead Sea salt twice a week.
  • Take a vinegar bath:
  1. Short on time? Rub your nail twice a day with a cotton ball soaked in vinegar.
  2. Too much time? Soak your nail in vinegar once a day for 15 minutes. This last option is the most effective, as it allows the vinegar to penetrate the nail well. After two weeks of persistence, you'll see the effects. Keep your nails short while doing this and regularly trim the top of the calloused nail (or have a podiatrist do this task).
  • Wash your feet daily, preferably without soap.
  • After each wash or shower, use a clean towel to dry your feet.
  • Dry your feet well, especially between the toes.
  • Wear clean socks every day.
  • Wear open-toed shoes as much as possible and walk barefoot as much as possible.
  • Change your shoes regularly.
  • Disinfect shoes and socks with an antifungal product.
  • Wear socks made of natural materials (cotton) and leather shoes.
  • Always wear bath slippers in communal baths and saunas.

If this does not help, it is advisable to consult your family doctor.

Happy toenails

Once your feet are pampered and cared for, it's time for your nails. It's best to cut them after a shower or foot bath. Don't cut them too short or straight across, and then file them to shape them. If you insist on painting your nails, buff them first with a buffing block and always use a base coat before applying color.
